Thank you for choosing Paint Pros Forever Finishes to bring new life to your home. To ensure your project runs smoothly and efficiently, we’ve prepared this guide to answer common questions and help you get ready for our arrival.
Your cooperation helps us deliver the high-quality, lasting results we’re known for.
1. Your Paint Colors and Sheens
Color Selection:
Please finalize your colors and sheens for all surfaces being painted, including ceilings, walls, trim, doors, closets, and cabinets. Common sheen options include flat, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss, and high-gloss.
Matching and Existing Paint:
If you’ve selected colors from another brand, let us know — we can usually match them. If we’re matching existing surfaces, please locate any leftover paint cans if available.
Finalizing Choices:
Color changes once work has begun may delay progress and increase costs. We’re happy to assist with decisions ahead of time, so please reach out before your project begins if you need guidance.
2. Preparing Your Space
Furniture and Belongings:
Please clear work areas by removing furniture, décor, wall hangings, and personal items. For larger furniture, let us know in advance if assistance is needed.
Closets, Shelves, and Cabinets:
Remove contents from any closets, shelves, or cabinets that are scheduled to be painted.
Bathrooms and Kitchens:
Clear countertops and remove rugs, towels, toiletries, and personal items.
Window Treatments:
Please remove window treatments other than mounted hardware when possible.
Switch Plates and Outlet Covers:
Our team will remove and reinstall these unless you are supplying new ones — just let us know.
Decks and Floors:
Remove all items from decks, porches, or floor areas being painted and sweep surfaces if possible.
3. Home Access and Security
Access Arrangements:
Please ensure access to your home during scheduled work hours or coordinate with us regarding keys, lockboxes, keypad codes, or garage access.
Alarm Systems:
Disarm alarms or provide temporary access codes as needed.
Pets:
For everyone’s safety, pets should be kept away from work areas during active painting.
Children:
Children should remain clear of work areas during scheduled work hours for safety reasons.
4. Scheduling and Other Trades
No Overlapping Trades:
Please do not schedule other contractors or trades to work in the same areas during your painting project. Notify us immediately if any overlap exists.
Project Hours:
Typical work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with daily cleanup beginning around 3:30 PM.
5. Additional Considerations
Electricity and Water:
Please ensure access to electricity and water for our equipment. Let us know ahead of time if this may be an issue.
Parking:
Provide guidance on preferred parking locations for crew vehicles.
Noise, Dust, and Odors:
Some noise, dust, and odors are normal during painting. We take steps to minimize disruption using dust barriers and proper ventilation.
Power Washing (Exterior Projects):
Please ensure all windows are closed and small items are secured prior to power washing.
Exterior Prep:
Remove pet waste from work areas and hose paths. While we work to contain paint chips, some may remain — routine lawn mowing typically resolves this.
6. Communication and Changes
Change Orders:
Additional work requests can usually be accommodated and are typically billed on a time-and-material basis. Please notify us promptly so changes can be scheduled efficiently.
Fixtures and Accessories:
We will remove and reinstall fixtures such as towel bars, light fixtures, and hardware as part of the project.
Initial Walkthrough:
Before work begins, we’ll review the project scope and document any pre-existing conditions. In some cases, this may require a brief acknowledgment.
7. Completion, Final Walkthrough & Next Steps
Daily Cleanup:
Our crews clean up at the end of each day and remove all debris upon project completion.
Final Walkthrough & Quality Inspection:
Once the project is complete, a Paint Pros Quality Inspector (not the painting crew) will conduct a final walkthrough with you to ensure everything meets our standards and your expectations.
At this time, we will:
Address any final touch-ups
Provide a labeled touch-up kit with matching paint
Review your warranties and Forever Finish™ coverage
Final Payment:
Final payment is due at the completion of the project during the final walkthrough and should be made directly to the Paint Pros Quality Inspector, not to the painting crew.
Payment may be made by check, cash, or card.
Once payment is received, you will be presented with official, printed copies of your:
* Lifetime Workmanship Warranty
* Lifetime Material Warranty
* Forever Finish™ Service Agreement
These documents confirm your coverage and mark the completion of your project.
Warm Regards,
